🐾 A Hero’s Final Mission: Honor Military Working Dog Ares 🐾 After nearly 8 years of service—including critical security work and a 7-month deployment to Kuwait—Military Working Dog Ares is ready to retire. This brave canine hero protected countless lives alongside his handler, Sydney. In retirement, Ares will enjoy well-deserved rest and lake adventures, but he will also need ongoing veterinary care for arthritis and hip dysplasia. To ensure Ares and other animals in need receive care and support, Sam Rose—a loyal friend of American Humane—has generously donated $250,000 toward all of our lifesaving programs. Sam Rose is now challenging compassionate supporters like you to step forward and join him. 🎁 Your gift will DOUBLE the impact of Sam Rose’s gift—helping honor heroes like Ares and supporting animals across the country who rely on us. 👉 Join the challenge and make a difference today: https://bit.ly/3DmhlzJ

My life has taken many turns, some for the better and some for the worse. I have a varied background of education, experience, and skills. Do you love animals? Do you support our Veterans? Are you looking to donate some valuable time and effort to your local charity? Animal Rescue & Veteran Support Services Trade name Veteran Rescue is looking to add Advisory Board members. Feel free to ask questions. I have 4 published business help books available on Amazon, Kindle and websites. From my current college assisgnment introduction. I posted this on day one: Introduce yourself My name is Christi Hubbard. I am in Deland, Florida. I own and operate two seperate businesses. A for profit, Wildcat's Sanctuary and Ranch, pet sitting, dog walking, and house sitting. A 501c3 non profit, Animal Rescue and Veteran Support Services, Corp. DBA Veteran Rescue, helping veterans and animals in need mostly. I also help small children and their families that are homeless. Being homeless myself for five years while working has given me an insight into their plight. I also help neighbors, contractors, and more. I recently rescued two small, newborn kittens from a vacant house attic. They are three weeks old, bottle fed every two hours, and teething right now. My future goals are to purchase a horse ranch with home on it, build brick and mortar shelter for animals, cabins for the veteran clients and become one hundred percent operational. Right now, I work from my cargo trailer. I am doing much better than I was five years ago when we lost everything. I will not lie, it has been a struggle to eat, work, college and keep my health. I am six classes away from completing my Master's degree in Public Administration. The response to this was positive and endearing. I regularly see something like this one from Christopher, "Hearing about your journey and dedication to helping animals and veterans is inspiring. Operating two businesses, a for-profit pet care service and a non-profit for veterans and animal rescue shows your commitment to significantly impacting your community. Your experiences, including overcoming homelessness, provide a unique perspective and drive to assist others in need. Your goal of purchasing a horse ranch and building a shelter for animals and veterans is admirable and a testament to your deep-rooted compassion. Your efforts in rescuing animals, like the newborn kittens, are a poignant reminder of your empathy. Balancing work, education, and personal challenges while being so close to completing your Master’s in Public Administration is not just commendable; it's a testament to your unwavering determination. Your plan to use your education to enhance your businesses and community engagement is a beautiful way to give back."

🇺🇸 Honoring Our Heroes This Memorial Day 🐾 As we gather to commemorate Memorial Day, let's take a moment to honor not only the brave men and women who have served our country but also the courageous service dogs who have stood alongside them. As you celebrate this important day, remember that large gatherings and celebrations can be overwhelming for our dogs. Here are a few tips to ensure they stay comfortable and safe during Memorial Day festivities: PROVIDE A QUIET SPACE: If you’re hosting or attending a busy event, make sure there’s a quiet, safe spot for your dog to retreat to if the festivities get too overwhelming. MONITOR FOOD AND TREATS: With barbecues and outdoor meals, be vigilant about what your dog might snatch up. Keep unhealthy or unsafe foods out of reach. KEEP THEM SECURE: If your celebration includes a lot of coming and going, make sure your dog can't slip out through an open door. Check that your yard is secure if they'll be spending time outside. FIREWORKS - if you are attending a fireworks celebration leave your dogs safelyat home. Let’s ensure this Memorial Day is enjoyable for everyone in the family, including our four-legged friends. Wishing everyone a peaceful and happy Memorial Day! #MemorialDay #HonorOurHeroes #ServiceDogs #Veterans #JoyfulDog #VirginiaDogTrainer #DogTrainer #TimetoTrain

Happy #K9VeteransDay to all the brave dogs who have served our country in various roles, including military, customs, search and rescue, police, border patrol, and secret service. Today, we honor and celebrate their service and sacrifice. Looking for ways to celebrate the day? Here are some ideas: - If you work with or train a military or law enforcement dog, make the day extra special for them. - Contact your representatives and encourage them to support a K-9 Veterans Day on the state or national level. - Support K-9 Courage, a group that provides healthcare assistance to retired police and military dogs, and gives support to service dogs who assist veterans with post-traumatic stress and traumatic brain injury. You could help raise funds or have your own dog participate in "Dogs Salute Dogs." - Learn about notable dogs who have served in the military, such as Sgt. Stubby, Chips, Lex, and Cairo. - Visit a memorial dedicated to dogs, such as the War Dog Memorial at the March Field Air Museum in Riverside, California; the War Dog Memorial in Hartsdale Pet Cemetery in Hartsdale, New York; the National War Dog Cemetery and War Dog Memorial at Naval Base Guam; The Pennsylvania War Dog Memorial; or the Military Working Dog Teams National Monument in San Antonio, Texas. - Watch a movie or documentary about military or police dogs such as Max, Sgt. Stubby: An American Hero, War Dog: A Soldier's Best Friend, Megan Leavey, or War Dogs: America's Forgotten Heroes. Let's show our appreciation for these amazing dogs and their service to our country. #PetWise #SmartyKat #GoDog #Sherpa #PetLinks #TrustyPup #Pawscout #KittySift #FurHaven #PetFactory #Treatly Image courtesy of #microsoftdesigner

This weekend, The American Legion is hosting MCON, in partnership with Veteran Benefits Guide, in a continued saga of TAL saying one thing and doing the complete opposite (very DC of them). You see, The American Legion’s DC office has, continuously, for well over a year, touted their devotion to protecting #veterans from predatory actors. VBG, notoriously known as predatory company, has preyed upon veterans for their entire existence - shown by the mounting lawsuits they face across the nation. So, the partnership seems a bit bizarre. To explain this through another lens, let’s imagine I partnered with PETA or Vegan Outreach. That would be a wee bit peculiar, because my entire platform is dedicated to advocating for veterans and encouraging them to get outside - to hunt and fish. It might cause you to question my focus. You may start to ask yourself if, rather than prioritizing my personal beliefs, I’m willing to sacrifice my convictions for a dime. That’s kinda what it looks like when a #Veteran Service Organization says they’re against predatory claims companies and then signs a contract with them. Politicians play word games. Veteran Service Organizations should not. Take a stance, stand tall, don’t bend for a check, and don’t lie to your membership. _____ 📸: unrelated photo #va #veteranaffairs #betheone #toapplycriticalthinkingskills #veteransstrengtheningamerica #dontfeedthesharks #claimsharks

Stand Against Cruelty, Defend the Defenseless!! The horror of cruelty against animals is an urgent call for action, and we need you by our side to stop it. In Defense of Animals is fighting for justice for animals who have endured unimaginable suffering. Together, we can fight for the maximum penalties in cruelty cases and advocate for stronger protections, while working to ensure that perpetrators face the full weight of justice. The ripple effects of animal cruelty are profound: the same hearts capable of harming an animal pose threats to children, elders, and any defenseless beings. Each dollar you give powers our Justice for Animals campaign, fueling investigations, pushing for prosecutions, and working toward a society that values empathy over apathy, protection over violence. https://lnkd.in/enRuuqdG
