Looking forward to seeing at CES the first and only indsutrial grade connected radar-camera fusion perception module in the market; based on early fusion of low-level radar data and RGB camera data. Claims to offer superior detection performance cost effectively as compared to incumbent perception technologies especially in adverse off-road environments. Will be dropping by NXP Semiconductor and SmartMicro booths to check them out.

Cynthia Owsley, PhD, and Gerald McGwin, Jr., PhD, were the co-organizers of the 11th World Conference on The Eye, The Brain and The Auto, focused on Vision and Driving, sponsored by Henry Ford Health and held in Detroit, Michigan, on November 18-19, 2024. The theme of the meeting was Naturalistic Driving methodology, which refers to techniques in which kinematic sensors and video cameras are embedded in personal vehicles to understand driver behavior with respect to safety and performance. Drivers in naturalistic driving studies drive their own vehicles in their everyday life for extended periods of time to generate data streams, which are then used to understand driver behavior. Conference attendees were an international group of scientists and engineers expert in this methodology from the US, France, Australia, and Italy.
