My name is June. I am the Head of Social Media here at Amazon Games and I'm a professional ****poster. The first thing I do when I come to the office at Amazon Games is I pet Loki, who if you if you're familiar with Henry from Patch Notes with Henry, that's his, that's his puppy. So I come in, he greets me, and then I grab a cup of coffee. I sit down and attend our morning meetings, which are usually weekly sync ups with our teams to discuss all of the content that's going to be rolling out for the week. If there's any marketing initiatives that are happening, make sure that we're aligned on everything that's going out. And then for the rest of the day, I push out our live posts, spend a little bit of time chatting with players in the comments of our social media channels. And of course, if there's any major projects or planning that needs to be done, I spend a part of the day doing that as well. Well, I love video games. It's a product that I'm passionate about. I've been playing video games for forever. When I graduated high school, I actually just went to college and got a Business Admin degree. But the cool thing is that there was actually a Marketing class over at the college where it was actually about social media, and social media was fairly new at the time as a Marketing tool. I learned so much from that class. It kind of inspired me to pursue Social Media. So essentially, Community is bridging the gap between players and Developer. We really want players to feel connected to our team members. We want them to know how passionate we are about the games that we are producing for them to play. We want them to also become fans of our game and talk to them about the games that we are producing, so that they can be excited about new content releases. So four years ago, Amazon was looking for a Social Media Manager to manage their channels that were already existing from New World. In addition to managing New World's, they were also looking for somebody to spearhead all of the games that we were publishing here at Amazon. So I was really excited about this role because I've had a lot of experience creating social media content for smaller startup companies. It seemed like this was a new venture for Amazon getting into the gaming industry. I was really excited because you would still have that startup vibe. Despite Amazon being such a big company, we would still have that startup vibe and really setting the tone and foundations for our social media channels. I've never worked with so many people that have touched every discipline of Community. And what I mean by that is that we've all handled, you know, the traditional Community Management role, which is Player Relations, interacting directly with the players, Social Media managing, you know, Content Creators and working with them, and also creating video content and editorial content. So we all we all have experience in each other's jobs. And what's really awesome about our team is that if I'm stumped for ideas for content and social media, I can reach out to anyone on our team and collaborate with them very easily because they understand my experience as a Social Media Manager and how tough that can be to constantly be creative. This team I regard very highly because we all have very different backgrounds and experiences. That is super valuable for learning. With this team at Amazon Games, there's always something to learn constantly, but Amazon Games is giving me an opportunity to actually teach my discipline to people who want to gain more experience with social media and make content, e creative and make things that resonate and are relatable to our players.
