Fantastic webinar from Imagine Canada and Bruce MacDonald around the state of the nonprofit sector. Some of my biggest takeaways include: - the percentage of people donating is at an ALL TIME LOW but the amount of individual donations are UP and the largest age demographic donating is 60+ - donations are largely going to the larger nonprofit organizations - there continues to be an increase in demand for nonprofit services, including environmental based orgs - 81% of Canadians feel charities are ESSENTIAL to our wellbeing. Australians are finding it tough! More than a quarter of respondents in the Fundraising Institute Australia / More Strategic Pty Ltd May 2024 survey on public attitudes towards giving said they plan to donate less in the coming year, with 73% attributing this to their economic situation and rising costs.
