Our Southern Region Admissions team recently gathered for their annual Christmas celebration! Those who could join enjoyed an unforgettable day filled with delicious food, fun games, and plenty of laughter. One of the highlights was a snowman-building activity that showcased their teamwork and creativity. This was a great activity to practice their team-building skills and get in the holiday spirit. The celebration was a huge success, and everyone was grateful for the chance to come together and celebrate the holiday season as a team. 🎄 #Teamwork #Christmas #AltercareFamily

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀 March 17th marks a global celebration honoring Ireland’s patron saint, known for spreading Christianity. Traditionally, it meant church visits and closed pubs, but in 1737, Boston hosted the first parade, later adopted by Ireland. While cherished by the Irish diaspora, it's embraced worldwide as a day of Irish pride and camaraderie. Whether Irish or not, everyone’s welcome to join the festivities, but it's crucial to celebrate respectfully. If your office plans a party, consider incorporating traditional Irish food or getting creative with themed treats. Keep decorations culturally focused, emphasizing leprechauns and clovers. Setting guidelines for attire ensures a respectful atmosphere. Avoid inappropriate costumes and educate on sensitivity around pinching, which can be misconstrued as harassment. If concerns arise about cultural appropriation, remind that St. Patrick’s Day evolved from celebrating Irish heritage amid discrimination. Alcohol poses challenges, so consider limiting drinks or opting for alcohol-free options. Encourage responsible behavior and offer safe rides home. Incentives like late arrival or free lunch can deter post-celebration absences. Ultimately, fostering a festive, inclusive environment boosts morale and engagement. Let’s celebrate responsibly and enjoy the spirit of the holiday! 🎉 #humanresources #saintpatricksday #officeculture

A Night to Remember at the Suffolk Care Awards ✨While we didn’t come away with a trophy last week, being finalists in three categories was a reward in itself. It gave me cause to reflect, it had given us a reason to attend a glittery dinner, dress up, relax and laugh. Not something that happens often enough these days 🤔 What stood out the most wasn’t the accolades, but the experience of attending the awards together as a team. Angela Rippon gave the opening speech and reminded everyone that carers are often undervalued and underpaid ( in my opinion much overused and overstated buzz words without true context, but that’s another story). However we were there to celebrate and recognise the opposite sentiments, after all that's been our vision for the last 11 years. Yes winning would have been icing on the cake but in a way we still won. One of my team wrote afterwards: "I have no doubt that in the coming years, this company will stand out even more, and people will line up to be a part of this team. It’s not just a place to work—it’s a community where you are valued and supported, where the well-being of both staff and clients is paramount." To me, that means more than any trophy ever could. That’s a big WIN It was a reminder that beyond the hard work, the targets, and the day-to-day, we need to take moments to laugh, dress up, and simply enjoy being together. It’s in these experiences that our sense of community thrives. Here’s to celebrating the small victories, the shared moments, and the incredible people that make this journey so rewarding. 🎉 Thank you. #CareCommunity #Teamwork #Celebration #SuffolkCareAwards #ValuedTeam #CultureMatters #Milsoms

"One of my most impactful projects was working with Children's Nebraska, and their Patient Experience Program. This program gathers feedback from former patients to recognize the outstanding work of nurses, doctors, and other staff members. It's inspiring to witness how such recognition boosts morale and validates the incredible contributions of those who dedicate their lives to saving these children. This initiative highlights the power of appreciation and its ability to uplift spirits and foster a sense of pride and accomplishment - to those who can sometimes have the hardest of days." -Paige Simpson, Enterprise Technical Account Manager A few fun facts about Paige... Bucket List item: "I would love free dive with humpback whales! I can’t imagine how humbling it must be to feel so minuscule and unimportant next to a huge whale. I don’t know if I would be speechless or scream from excitement, but either way I would love to jump in the ocean with such gigantic creatures!" If you could have lunch with one historical figure, who would it be? " I'd love to have lunch with Princess Diana because she's such an icon and a legend. It would be amazing to chat with her about life behind the palace scenes and learn more about her as a person. She just seems so cool, and I'd be fascinated to hear her all of her stories, and maybe some secrets." #employeerecognition #hr #retention #companyculture #awardies #awardco #recognizethegood #rewardsandrecognition

I am thrilled to see some organizations still value celebrating their employees meaningfully and genuinely and, more importantly, share the celebrations and accomplishments for all of us to see. Check on the inclusive celebrations and recognition Valley Health System posted during their recent Go LIVE of their new hospital. They departed from the obligatory ribbon-cutting photo op with a few leaders. Instead, they actively rounded throughout their move, capturing all their teams working together on their highly successful move and sharing the journey for all to see. 🏆 Break from the sterile monotony of online meetings and celebrate and socialize with your team and those you serve. "That is not in the budget" is an unacceptable excuse. As a Servant Leader, you are responsible for being a cheerleader and strong advocate for your team. Find the funds and be creative, inclusive, and generous, or you will spend your budget on the revolving door of recruiting and training new hires. #PauseAndCelebrate #Pride #PayitForward #FunAtWork #ServantLeader #RewardsAndRecognition
Gratitude: it’s a critical part of our culture here at Hartford HealthCare! • Our colleagues assembled at our System Support Office for some perfectly-prepared pizza from our friends at New Haven Pizza Truck, and incredible ice cream from our friends at Blue Chip Creamery - to celebrate all of the amazing work they do to transform healthcare and making the care experience better for our patients and our communities. ❤️ • Check out some sights and sounds of this remarkable afternoon, featuring one of our graduate administrative interns Cameron Morosky, and our President & CEO Jeffrey Flaks. • To all of our colleagues, we are truly grateful and inspired by your commitment to improve the health and healing of the communities we serve. • #HartfordHealthCare #Community #Social #ColleagueAppreciation #Colleagues #Connecticut

Hi everyone! Mark Maxfield here, CEO of The Cottages Assisted Living & Memory Care. Those who work for me know that culture is one of the most important things to me for my company. I hired a company President a little over a year ago, which has allowed me to work on the growth and culture of my company. Culture is often what you see, hear, and feel when you walk into your place of business. For me it would be one of our assisted living communities. Recently we had all of our community summer BBQs. I was able to go to ten of them and they were fantastic. I’ve been very impressed with how many people from our other communities showed up to help their sister communities. They assisted with preparing the meals, setting up decorations, and cleaning up. It involved a lot of work. So, my message for you leaders this month is, are you fostering an environment in your culture where people feel comfortable helping other people do their jobs? That means you have to be ok with cross training and cross supporting, so that people don’t feel siloed and like it’s a competition. It shouldn’t feel like a competition. Instead, it should feel like, this is our team. This is our company. How can we help each other to be successful? That’s one thing that I’ve noticed that is really improving in our company. I’m so proud of that and great job everyone! As a leader that is something you can look forward to as well. Making sure that everyone feels safe so that they feel like they can help everyone. In so doing, your entire company will be successful. See you next time. #cottagespride #assistedliving #longtermcare #seniorliving #seniorcare #seniors #healthcare #improvelives #deliverqualitycare #caregiveroftheyear

We will be celebrating Children's Day in just a few days, and I can’t help but wonder what an integral role life and experiences play in shaping the personalities of innocent children. Even today, I reminisce about my childhood holidays, and these precious memories bring me a smile. Those moments of exploration, discovery, and family bonding played an integral role in forming who I am today. As adults, we play a crucial role in creating these memories for the young ones. Holidays are not just about relaxation—they’re opportunities to expose our children to new places, cultures, and experiences that help them develop curiosity, empathy, and resilience. Whether it’s a road trip, a staycation, or an adventure, every experience contributes to shaping their worldview. At BWH hotels, we believe in offering spaces that encourage these moments of growth and discovery for families. Because it’s in these moments that our children learn to embrace the world around them, and we, as parents, play a key part in guiding them. Here’s to making more memories and giving our children the gift of experiences that will last a lifetime. #ChildrensDay #memories #vacations #vacations

I want to address an important issue in churches and ministries to help people make informed decisions. Here are some key points to consider: 1. Preachers deserve fair compensation for their work. As the Bible states in 1 Timothy 5:18, "A laborer is worthy of their hire," especially when speaking at paid events. 2. Preachers are essential to conferences and events, providing the core content. Without them, there’s no message or substance. It's only fair that hosts cover their travel expenses at a minimum. If you can charge for an event, you can afford to take care of those who contribute to its success. Preachers should never have to cover their own expenses. I personally will not speak at events unless all costs are covered for every preacher involved. Everyone contributing should be compensated, not just the keynote speaker. Paying some and not others is unfair and disrespectful. If you profit from an event, share that with the preachers—it’s a sign of appreciation for their efforts. If you're charging attendees, it’s wrong to ask speakers to come for free. Would you accept a reduced paycheck? Likely not. Let’s ensure we value those who add substance to our events.
