Big changes were made during the 2024 legislative session regarding how OMMA regulates and licenses the medical marijuana industry. The first big change is to the license transfer process. Anyone selling their OMMA business license or changing the ownership structure of their OMMA business license must follow the process set out in SB 1939. Our team put together a step-by-step written guide as well as a video to assist the regulated industry with understanding this change. The second big change is coming June 1st when pre-packaging will be required per HB 3361. It will be fascinating to see how the IRS distinguishes ERC “hardship cases” (worthy of immediate processing) from the many other ERC filer (who are apparently just fine operating indefinitely without the credits to which they are entitled).
