🚨 Not all revenue is good revenue! Let me share a time when our company had to turn down a $1.3 million roofing project. We were selected for a large residential re-roofing job, but after three meetings with the board, I noticed red flags that didn’t sit right. Even though the sale would’ve been amazing, I respectfully withdrew our proposal. Why? Because the risk wasn’t worth the reward, and their values didn’t align with ours. Happy 4th of July weekend! MWE has completed the 2nd Qtr. 2024 with a grand total of 124 bids on projects for our clients. We had a very busy June, with 28 submissions alone! That is a very good pace. As always, we are grateful to our clients for their trust in our Business & our combined efforts to help them build successful backlogs! This month, we'd like to review DEADLINES. Every Estimator lives & dies by the scheduled list of Estimates to be competed, reviewed, sent in & chased down after Bid Day for results. In order to be as accurate as possible, every Estimator must have a keen eye on the schedule. MWE is no different, as we must get our work done not only before the Bid Date, but early enough for our clients to review & approve our work for release. It is critical for our clients to understand a project they may only looked at briefly, as they hand them off to us for interpretation, completion & submission. We must give our clients time to see what risks they want to take. We take pride in our efforts to help our clients secure successful work. We also advise our clients when NOT to bid certain jobs. During the initial evaluation, MWE will compare the bid docs to what we know of our clients' goals. This month, for example, we notified our clients not to bid at least 6 projects, as the scope & the size did not fit the parameters they need. MWE does not just chase Invoice opportunities for us. We truly want our clients to be successful in their growth plans. Lastly, there always must be room in our schedule for the 911 - 'Can you get us a number by _____?" calls every sub inevitably receives. To date, in our over 1.5 years of Service, we have only said no a couple of times. We do our best to help our clients.
