Taking ownership means acknowledging that there's SOMETHING you could have done to make the situation better, then communicating (and implementing!) the plan to make it better in the future. As a leader, I must be the chief ownership taker and apologizer. That applies in my role as an employee, manager, father and husband. That way, others will feel comfortable admitting their own mistakes. One of my favorite lessons from Extreme Ownership is that there are no bad teams, only bad leaders. If the team isn't performing, it's a leadership issue. And if nothing else, you're always a team of at least 1. The ProAction team last week went through Self-Awareness training, run by our own Jo Hobbins. Everyone learned something about themselves that they hadn’t considered before. Here we are prioritising our Values – working out which are most important to us. Then we reflected: 🤔 How do these impact our decision-making on a daily basis? 💡 ❤️ How do they impact our emotions when we are living in accordance, (or not in accordance) with our values? 💔 👍 Which of our values have served us well recently, and which may not have? 👎 Spending time reflecting on our values, helped us understand why we behave or react in the way that we do, and appreciate how our colleagues are similar and different to ourselves. So whilst we learned more about ourselves, we also came closer together as a team, a definite win win for our organisation. Can’t wait for the next session! The Power of Continuous Improvement: A Shoutout to Freddy J Barreto G !!! Here at our Miami plant, we're all about pushing ourselves to be better, both individually and as a team. That's why I'm so excited to share some fantastic news – Freddy, one of our valued team members, just started taking morning classes to improve his language skills! Let me tell you a bit more about Freddy. During our operation meetings, we noticed that sometimes the language barrier created a slight delay as he translated the discussions. We set a fun goal for each meeting: Freddy would learn a couple of new words to add to his vocabulary. He embraced the challenge and made steady progress. But Freddy didn't stop there! He recognized the importance of clear and confident communication, not just for our meetings, but for overall team success. That's why he took the initiative to enroll in morning classes. This kind of dedication to continuous improvement is truly inspiring! Freddy's commitment to learning reflects our company's core values. We all have the potential to grow – and when we actively seek ways to improve, everyone benefits. So let's give a big round of applause to Freddy for taking this fantastic step forward!
