We hosted Habitat for Humanity of Dane County for a panel build in Madison last week. Employees rolled up their sleeves and put on their hard hats to help build the walls of a new home for a local family of six. Great teamwork was displayed for an important cause.

Is a Cancelled Project Always a Setback? Unexpected changes can sometimes pave the path for new opportunities. In Hamilton, the ambitious plan to transform the Barton-Tiffany lands into a groundbreaking film production hub has been shelved. While the reasons include high interest rates and a sluggish film market, this is not just a tale of a project that didn’t materialize. This shift opens up a chance to reassess and innovate. The temporary use of the land for an outdoor shelter is a testament to the community’s ability to adapt and prioritize needs. It’s a moment for real estate stakeholders to think creatively about sustainable development and community engagement. How do you see such project pivots impacting community planning and real estate development in your area? #RealEstateDevelopment #CommunityEngagement

Well said sir. Housing is the foundation of stability. There is something profoundly human about the need for a safe, stable place to call home. Housing isn’t just about having a roof over your head—it’s about creating a space where families can thrive, children can grow, and communities can flourish. A home provides more than shelter; it offers security, dignity, and a foundation for building a better life. When we strengthen access to quality, affordable housing, we aren’t just helping individuals—we’re empowering entire communities. This belief is what drives my passion for the work I do every day. Whether we’re helping develop housing, restoring communities, or providing deconstruction for materials resale, I know that we are contributing to something far greater than just the structures we work on. We are helping to create opportunities for stability, growth, and hope. Housing is more than a need—it’s a right. And it’s a cause we all care deeply about. Together, let’s build a future where every person can experience the safety and security that a stable home provides. #HousingMatters #CommunityDevelopment #AffordableHousing #Stability #MakingADifference #capefearhabitatforhumanity

YES! is starting with its first activity this week: Post a picture demonstrating how your work/studies have a positive impacton community. Feel free to explain it: what is your community that you serve/inhabit? What is the most rewarding thing about helping community? What is something that you think communities would benefit from your work, that is different or unconventional? For me personally, my local community is in Upstate New York, and as there are many people who have moved here to appreciate the natural beauty of the area, as well as locals who have lived here for generations, everyone has some story to tell from their perspective of the area’s natural history. One thing that is rewarding about serving it is seeing people and families come together and have fun in a local setting, and seeing that they can do fun and rewarding things for the environment right where they are. And, I truly believe that my community could really start to benefit from their creative projects being celebrated as a new way of collaborating in a local setting, to set an example for other communities. In order to create change, we need to embrace our unique skills and the qualities that make us outstanding. The environment is filled with communities, and we are one of them, contributing to it with our output. If our output is positive and fulfilling for everyone, just imagine how the Earth community can become even stronger than before! #community #earth #earthcommunity #communityaction #communityclimate

The Power of Parks 🌳 “Power and hope emerge in surprising places. Envisioning, planning, creating, and stewarding a park exemplifies social infrastructure, enabling communities to address social issues on their terms and replace despair and frustration with hope and action.” In SSIR’s summer issue, read about how the Trust for Public Land is helping communities from Hawai‘i to Washington, DC, revitalize their parks and build community power in the midst of ongoing social crises: “To respond to the times, parks and public spaces must become not just passive spaces but catalysts in forming a healthy polity. In caring for the commons of parks and green spaces, we nurture social solidarity, civic engagement, and a thriving democracy.” Read the full story >> https://lnkd.in/e8bgMN3X #democracy #parks #community #power
