Brain Injury Awareness Week 2024, is a time to reflect on how we can better support and advocate for Australians living with brain injuries. This year's theme, "What’s your connection?" highlights the impact brain injuries can have on individuals, affecting their connections with family, friends, colleagues, and even strangers. In a time when the "rental crisis" and "cost of living crisis" are challenging everyone, let's ensure that those living with brain injuries are not forgotten or left behind. With 1 in 45 Australians affected, it's vital that we deepen our understanding and create a more inclusive society where everyone is supported. Whether it's a 19-year-old recovering from an accident or a 65-year-old affected by stroke or dementia, brain injury can connect us all in unexpected ways. Together, we need to strengthen these connections, improve awareness, and advocate for better access to the programs and systems that support those living with brain injuries. What’s your connection? #BIAW24 #WhatsTheConnection #BrainInjuryAwareness #SupportAndAdvocate
