Perspectum and MRCP+ in the Spotlight! We’re thrilled to share that quantitative biliary metrics using MRCP+ are gaining significant attention in the medical community. As highlighted at The 2024 Liver Meeting, this breakthrough technology is proving to be a game-changer in understanding and managing primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC). A special thank you to Sarah Finnegan, PhD, who presented new research findings from a partnership with the University of Toronto led by Dr Kartik Jhaveri and Dr Gideon Hirschfield showing that MRCP+ could detect changes in biliary tree anatomy over 10 years. PSC is a complex and challenging disease, but advancements like MRCP+ demonstrate how precision diagnostics can enable better clinical decisions, earlier interventions, and improved outcomes for patients worldwide. At Perspectum, we are committed to shaping a future where innovation meets impact, and this milestone brings us one step closer. 📖 Find the full article in the comments below! #Perspectum #MRCPPlus #PrecisionDiagnostics #PSC #HealthcareInnovation

What if you could know the characteristics of a clot before thrombectomy, from standard stroke CT imaging? How would that impact your interventional procedure? Comment below 👇🏼
✨ We are excited to share the successful collaboration between our team and Lahey Hospital & Medical Center in assessing clot characteristics in acute ischemic stroke patients. By integrating CT-source data with advanced histological analysis, we classified clots and explored their characteristics and impact on patient outcomes. This innovative partnership highlights the potential of combining machine learning and medical expertise to advance stroke treatment and improve outcomes. Special thanks to Dr. Juyu Chueh, Dr. Emanuele Orru' , Dr. Patel and all involved for their dedication and hard work in achieving these promising first results! #StrokeResearch #HealthcareInnovation #Teamwork #LHMC #BILH #JuyuChueh #EmanueleOrru #NeilPatel

OCCUPI, an Investigator Initiated Study led by Dr BK Kim (Severance Hospital, S Korea) was presented as a late-breaker at just concluded ESC. The study which was also simultaneously published in prestigious Lancet demonstrated that OCT-guided PCI significantly improves clinical outcomes and enhances safety and effectiveness of coronary stenting compared to conventional angiography-guided PCI in complex cases. The data was presented just a couple of days after the revision of ESC guidelines for the treatment of CCS, which revised the Intravascular Imaging (OCT/IVUS for complex lesion) to the highest possible level IA. The results from OCCUPI and the new recommendations will likely change the practice of PCI with DES for complex coronary lesions by providing stronger support for the superior benefits of OCT guidance over conventional angio-guided PCI. Many congratulations to the Investigators of OCCUPI for running this large RCT.. #OCT #ComplexPCI #DES #ESC2024 #InvestigatorInitiatedStudy #Abbottproud

🚀 Pushing Boundaries in Advanced Vascular Diagnostics at Karolinska Institute: The Game-Changing Potential of TcPO2! As part of the Avancerad fysiologisk kärldiagnostik program at Karolinska Institute, I’ve gone beyond the traditional duplex and imaging techniques in cardiovascular diagnostics to explore the untapped potential of transcutaneous oxygen pressure (TcPO2)—and what I’ve uncovered is nothing short of inspiring. TcPO2 doesn’t just help us predict wound healing or guide interventions to prevent amputations in diabetes; it opens up a whole new frontier for understanding how vascular health impacts could lead complex neurological diseases, but that really let me think! Imagine: what if conditions like Alzheimer’s, multiple sclerosis, and other neurodegenerative diseases could be evaluated based on their vascular components? With TcPO2’s precise insight into local oxygenation, we could detect subtle vascular deficiencies that contribute to neurodegeneration, possibly even tailoring treatments like hyperbaric therapy for more effective outcomes. 🌍🧠 This tool is redefining diagnostics—not just for cardiovascular health but for a more integrated view of the body’s vascular and neurological systems. I’m thrilled to be at the cutting edge of this field, where innovative techniques like TcPO2 are transforming our approach to diagnosis, treatment, and preventive care across multiple domains of medicine, and I hope that my idea could turn to investigation 👩💻 I wanted to share the link provided by Prof. Stefan Rosfors about current use of TcPO2 to know that amazing technique better!

🔝 Case of the Month in #photoncounting CT🫀 By Milan Vecsey-Nagy at #MUSCcvi As this month’s case coincides with #RSNA2024, we decided to present a unique series of ultra-high-resolution (UHR) #photoncounting CCTA cases - a topic that has been generating significant interest. These cases showcase the exceptional detail provided by UHR CT compared to standard-resolution energy-integrating detector CT. Observe how the enhanced spatial resolution and improved calcium blooming impact stenosis assessment ()! With consistently lower percent diameter stenosis measurements, patients are often reclassified into lower CAD-RADS categories. Such reclassification significantly alters patient pathways, reducing the need for additional functional testing or invasive procedures, and ultimately lowering the rate of complications and costs. Just hours ago, a paper detailing the two-year follow-up results of our Phase 1 clinical trial featuring CYP-001, our innovative Cymerus™ off-the-shelf iPSC-derived MSC product, was published in the prestigious Nature Medicine journal. This is the second paper published in Nature Medicine regarding this trial which reports survival rate compares very favourably to previously reported outcomes in SR-aGvHD - 60% vs. historical prognosis of below 20% two-year overall survival rate. “The publication of a second paper on this trial in such a high-impact journal is a testament to the importance of this project to the wider field of cellular therapy,” John Rasko AO, the international coordinating Principal Investigator for the trial.
