Glad to be at the #ESWC2024 conference and see the latest breakthroughs in the field of semantic technologies.
The workshops and the first day of the conference are already over! Everything is happening fast, and there is so little time to get to know the greatest people in your field.
From the workshops, the most interesting keynote for me was given by Frank van Harmelen. His debate on the difference between "neuro-semantics" and "neuro-symbolic" systems and the definition of "semantics" was thought provoking.
On the second day of workshops, in the Knowledge Graphs for Sustainability (KG4S) workshop (https://2024.kg4s.org), I presented my paper titled "Semantic Asset Administration Shell for Circular Economy," which is a summary of my master's thesis completed at DFKI. Once the proceedings are available, I will share more insights on that!
In the poster sessions, I can already guess that the "Datatypes for Lists and Maps in RDF Literals" by Olaf Hartig and his colleagues from AWS will be the best poster (https://lnkd.in/eUM4Fqjf). Dealing with lists and order-relevant data in RDF is challenging, and I hope the RDF specification and community find a practical solution.
In the demo track, I personally found "RMLdoc" to be the most useful tool (https://lnkd.in/eACktcNT). Understanding RML mappings is not easy or intuitive, and Ana Iglesias Molina et al. developed an awesome tool that can generate documents, visualizations, and more of your RML mappings.
It is great that metaphacts GmbH is sponsoring the event and also supporting me to attend!
Looking forward to meeting more people and learning new ideas! #ESWC #ESWC2024 #semantic #rml #rdf
