The rapid emergence of AI has created a significant sense of urgency across all industries and sectors and for KPMG – like many businesses – it’s transforming how we work. It was great to speak virtually to David Rowlands, our Global Head of AI, and colleagues at the KPMG Global AI Summit this week. As I’ve written previously, AI comes up in every single conversation I have with clients and colleagues. They have lots of questions and they are looking to us for answers. We know AI can only reach its full potential when it’s paired with human expertise. And when people have trust that it will be used responsibly to change things for the better. This week, the best minds in AI at KPMG are leveraging our collective strengths – in everything from technology transformation to audit and assurance – to develop cutting-edge approaches that will supercharge every aspect of our business, and our people with AI. Combined with the deep sector and business process knowledge of the KPMG professionals we have in every corner of our global network, AI is already driving a tremendous step forward in delivering the best solutions to the biggest challenges our clients are facing. #AI #innovation #makethedifference

As AI continues to evolve and become more accessible, its disruption in the consulting industry cannot be overstated. Consultants are leveraging AI not only to refine their decision-making processes but also to enhance their market value—whether their projects are primarily AI-driven or not. According to a McKinsey & Co. study, the adoption of AI has nearly doubled in recent years. In 2017, only about 20% of firms reported using AI in at least one area of their business. By 2022, that figure had risen to 50%. Looking ahead to 2024 and beyond, the stakes are even higher. Many experts predict that consulting firms failing to embrace AI may struggle to remain competitive within the next five years. However, integrating AI into consulting practices isn't without its challenges. The AI consultants I engage with daily are navigating a complex landscape—from developing effective implementation strategies to staying ahead of evolving regulations that ensure AI is used ethically. As someone deeply involved in the data space, I’m excited to see how this rapidly advancing technology will continue to disrupt and shape the consulting market in the coming years, and how in turn, it affects the role of consultants across the industry! #AIConsulting #AI #ArtificalIntelligence #McKinsey
