Empowering women and girls through Emotional, Mental, and Physical Self-defense | Life Coach | 5th Dan Black Belt Taekwondo Master

I completely agree in principle. Men and boys need to take responsibility and accountability. However, there are clear benefits of women and girls learning martial arts and self-defence for its own sake and in the right environment. https://lnkd.in/g_CuvkZM https://lnkd.in/gwhaevPC I also agree that typical self-defence programs don't talk about non-physical forms of actions and assault, which has led me to create my own holistic system that does. NO GIRL SHOULD HAVE TO LEARN SELF-DEFENCE TO WALK TO SCHOOL. This child says she ‘lacked confidence’ - but what she really means is that she was scared of violence. Adults should not be feeding into this by claiming that teaching a 15 year old girl ‘self-defence’ will protect her from VAWG. Absolutely disgusting approach to safeguarding girls. To be clear, I am not criticising the girls who want this, they want it because they don’t feel safe - I’m criticising the adults around them, and adult MEN who make them feel so frightened to walk to school that they feel they need a fckin martial art to live a normal life. I hate this so much!!
