In August, Local Foundation took a step back to focus on our strategic initiatives and future projects… which, if we’re honest, looked a lot like kicking back and taking a well-earned break for most of the month! But that doesn’t mean our work came to a standstill… 𝐓𝐢𝐦𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭: We dedicated time to enhancing our platform and refining our upcoming projects, laying the groundwork for exciting announcements in the coming months. 𝐇𝐚𝐜𝐤𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬: Our primary focus was on the Social Impact Hackathon, which will be seeking to find ways to implement a paradigm shift in foster care, leading to more children finding foster homes, organised in collaboration with Geek Sessions and AIPAR. We launched an event website, held productive meetings with AIPAR, and developed an engaging format tailored for a social impact environment. 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐒𝐮𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬: Our monthly Grow Algarve Meetup attracted a great group of participants, while Meetballs continued to foster connections and collaboration. We look forward to leveraging our experiences in Huelva, where we explored fantastic infrastructure and initiatives for startups, and we’re excited to unlock the potential of smaller regions in the months to come.
