Great to hear the insights of those key leaders & thinkers that keep millions of people safe at our stadiums every year My personal highlights: 👮♂️ Bob Eastwood (EFL (English Football League) Carl Krueger & Adrian Roberts (UK Football Policing) provided a brilliant panel discussion on fan behaviour, trends, disorder post covid, information sharing amongst clubs, the need for early intervention, Self-Policing amongst fans & all reiterated the shared view that we can’t ban or arrest our way out of fan disorder issues 👨⚖️ Martyn Henderson OBE (Independent Football Regulator) highlighted the fragility of the football pyramid & the important role independent regulation will play in helping preserve the heritage of English football ⚽️ Darren Whitehouse (Premier League & #SGSA) spoke in detail about the important developments to a new Stewarding qualification that focuses on football (SQUAD) 🏟️ Jon Hornby (Manchester United) challenged industry colleagues to ensure the demand for provision of ‘quality’ Stewards & reinforced the need to amalgamate Stewarding qualifications in the long-term 🗣️ Paul Evans (Carlisle Support Services) highlighted the power behind a centralised Stewarding database & pressed for improved collaboration amongst suppliers saying “We need to leave the ego’s at the door” Key take aways from other superb speakers like Counter Terrorism Policing & Football Supporters' Association included; 🌎 The importance of service to fans & the fan experience, the Impact of HVM on crowd flows & avoidance of inadvertently creating a terrorist target during the ingress screening process.
