The sight of blood is a powerful trigger. Some of us faint, some of us vomit, and some of us spring into action. “Stop the Bleed” was founded to help more of us do the latter. Stop the Bleed was founded by the American College of Surgeons Committee on Trauma (ACS COT) with a simple mission: educate and empower the public to step in and provide lifesaving assistance in bleeding emergencies. Why the public? When a person is injured and bleeding severely, there’s often no time to wait for medical professionals to arrive. If someone like you can learn simple techniques to stop the flow of blood, then someone like you can be the difference between life and death. We want everyone to know about Stop the Bleed and their mission. If you do, too, check out our blog! https://lnkd.in/gBy83EhV

When I visit my cousins’ or friends’ houses, they often tell me they don’t want their kids to enter medicine. The reasons? Long hours, financial challenges, risks of violence, and medico-legal issues. But let me share a story that shows why this profession is still worth it. Recently, I had the privilege of being part of a transformative journey. Baby Vara, a 3-month-old diagnosed with craniosynostosis, underwent a successful endoscopic repair—a minimally invasive procedure that gave him a new lease on life. I have received a heartfelt message in the form of a letter from Baby Vara’s family, calling me a "real-life hero". This letter made me understand that, its more than a career—it’s a calling, where every challenge is worth it for moments like this. I hope Vara grows up, reads this someday, and recognizes his strength at such a young age. Who knows, maybe he will become a compassionate doctor, transforming lives. #Craniosynostosis #EndoscopicRepair #MedicalField #PatientCare #InspiringStories #HealthcareProfession
