Airbus Helicopters and Østnes Helicopters have signed a new contract for 10 H125 helicopters at EUROPEAN ROTORS, addressing the region’s high demand for reliable, versatile rotorcraft in utility and aerial missions. This fleet addition reinforces Østnes' commitment to serving Nordic operators with responsive delivery times and efficient support for essential missions. Frode Østnes, CEO of Østnes Helicopters, emphasized the helicopter’s proven adaptability, highlighting that “Nordic customers require a truly versatile helicopter.” Thomas Hein, head of Europe Region at Airbus Helicopters, praised Østnes’ role in expanding Airbus' market share in the Nordics, underscoring their 30-year partnership as a key factor in strengthening Airbus’ footprint in the region. Østnes Helicopters, the authorized distributor for Airbus in the Nordics, supports a fleet of over 150 H125s across diverse missions. With more than 400 helicopters sold, the company offers comprehensive MRO services for models including the H120, H125, H130, and now the H145 with expert-certified technicians. The globally dominant H125 maintains an impressive 82% market share in the single-engine category, with the Ecureuil family celebrating 40 million flight hours and 50 years since its inaugural flight. Ever wonder how airplanes section or big parts of Airbus are transported for assemble? It is thru this strange airplane, called Beluga. Beluga - large white sturgeon fish. Met my friend from ATI (Airbus Transport International). We talked about inventory and supply chain of airplane's parts. The most crucial element in MRO. ATI operates their Beluga as the same as other airline does, 10 destinations in europe and 1 in Ankara (for Turkish Aerospace), actively delivering airplanes sections. Those airports are airbus plants which produce airplanes fuselage or sections. The Beluga is built base on Airbus 330, having 40% more volume space, longer range capability, 10 tonnes more payload. Airbus reported a five percent increase in consolidated revenue at €44.5 billion for the first nine months of 2024 compared to €42.6 billion in the same period last year on higher revenue from commercial aircraft activities. “We saw strong demand across our product range in the first nine months of the year," says Guillaume Faury, Chief Executive Officer, Airbus. "The nine-month earnings reflect the level of commercial aircraft deliveries, a solid performance in helicopters and the charges in our space business recorded in the first half. We are constantly adapting to a complex and fast-changing operating environment marked by geopolitical uncertainties and specific supply chain challenges that have materialised in the course of 2024. Drukaìr signed Aircraft Purchase Agreement wìth Airbus on tĥree A320neo and two A321XLR. -‐--‐--------------------‐---------------------------------------- In celebration of the 13th Royal Wedding Anniversary of Their Majesties, Drukair signed a Purchase Agreement with Airbus for five new aircraft, including three A320neo and two A321XLR models, in Paro yesterday. The three A320neo aircrafts will replace the two A319s ageing planes, ensuring the continuity and efficiency in their fleet operations. Drukair CEO Tandi Wangchuk said that the purchase of these new aircrafts is timely as Drukair’s A319s, which have been in service for 19 years, will reach 25 years by 2030. Drukair had previously signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Airbus on July 22 this year to secure these aircraft, aimed at expanding routes to new international destinations. The CEO highlighted that the MoU was crucial for obtaining the earliest delivery slots, as delays could have pushed the timeline to 2032 or later. The new fleet is expected to start arriving in 2030. Airbus reported a 46 percent decline in net income at €825 million for the first six months of 2024 compared to €1.5 billion in the first half of 2023 on "challenges in space business." Guillaume Faury, Chief Executive Officer, Airbus says: "The half-year financial performance mainly reflects significant charges in our space business.
