How was your Thanksgiving — filled with laughter, love, and connection, or memorable for all the wrong reasons? Across the country, families gathered around turkey and dressing, sharing stories and giving thanks for their blessings. But not everyone’s Thanksgiving was picture-perfect. Some faced the bittersweet absence of loved ones, family tensions, or obstacles that kept them apart. Even if this year wasn’t all you hoped for, think back to the moments that shaped you — joyful or challenging. Those experiences taught you lessons, shaped your values, and instilled a wisdom that defines who you are today. That hard-earned wisdom and the values you hold dear are the foundation of your legacy. Imagine the impact those stories and lessons could have on your children, grandchildren, and beyond. Preserving them isn’t just about reflection — it’s about making sure the best of you lives on. This holiday season, take a moment to reflect: What stories, lessons, and values are you thankful for? How will you ensure they’re remembered? Your legacy deserves to be treasured.

In a few days, loved ones of all ages will gather to be grateful! As you prepare for your Thanksgiving celebration, consider these ideas to get the different generations in your family connecting: 1. Merge the kids’ and adults’ tables. Don’t segment seating by age, instead mix generations and see what happens. Whether a grandparent shares a pearl of wisdom or a teen captures the meal on SnapChat, everyone can learn from each other! 2. Ask questions and share stories. Research shows that stories sync the brains of the storyteller and the listener. What a great way to transfer knowledge, wisdom, and legacy with those you love! Here are some conversation sparkers: · What was Thanksgiving like when you were growing up? · What is your favorite holiday memory or tradition? · Who or what are you thankful for in your life now? · Here is a special story about our family… · The quality I most appreciate about you is… 3. Do an activity together. Whether taking a walk, playing a game, or cooking together- sharing experiences creates connections and memories that can last a lifetime. Let us know if you try these tips, and what you notice about the experience! Our hope is that this Thanksgiving you and yours will gain perspective of the past and the present… and strengthen generational connections for years to come. Happy Thanksgiving! J + Dr. K

As we prepare for Thanksgiving, let’s take a moment to reflect on the realities faced by many who won’t be celebrating. This year has been devastating for countless people. Millions are out of work: Dreams shattered, careers disrupted, and families struggling to make ends meet. Homes have been lost: Many are spending tonight under open skies, not because they choose to, but because life left them no choice. Families are hurting: Parents grappling with how to explain empty plates and empty promises to their children. Loneliness prevails: Individuals facing the quiet pain of feeling invisible in a world that seems to move on without them. For those of us fortunate to have: A meal to share: pause to give thanks and say a prayer for those who don’t. A roof over our head: consider how you can extend kindness to those without shelter. A steady job: hold it with gratitude and remember those still searching.** Tonight, let your heart break for those in pain. And in that breaking, let us: - Turn sorrow into action. - Give generously, act kindly, and love deeply. Gratitude isn’t just about what we have—it’s about how we can make a difference. While tomorrow celebrates Thanksgiving, tonight is a chance to reflect, mourn, and resolve to bring hope to those who need it most. Let’s be the light for those in darkness.

9 great questions to ask family during Thanksgiving dinner (that have nothing to do with politics, religion, or crypto): 1. Pretend you can only keep 3 Thanksgiving *sides* and have to throw the rest away forever. Which 3 do you pick? (Turkey is included by default, so we’re just talking sides here) 2. What is your fondest Thanksgiving memory that you always look back on with a smile? 3. Which accomplishment from the past year are you most proud of? 4. Pretend you can only keep 3 Thanksgiving *desserts* and have to throw the rest away forever. Which 3 do you pick? 5. What is the best sub-$100 purchase you made this year that most improved your life? 6. Who did you meet this year that unexpectedly added a ton of value to your life? 7. What is your favorite moment or milestone from the last year? 8. What is something you’ve been feeling extra grateful for recently? 9. What are you most excited about for the year ahead? Happy Thanksgiving!

Thanksgiving can be a time of warmth, but it’s also a reminder of the complexities and history surrounding it. For Robert, as a Métis individual, it’s a day that holds duality—both celebration and pain. This holiday, let’s reflect on what Thanksgiving means and how we can hold space for both gratitude and reconciliation. #Thanksgiving #TruthAndReconciliation #IndigenousPerspectives #ReflectAndGrow
