The foundation world is in transition. Some of the most recognizable names in philanthropy are stepping down, and a new wave of leaders is taking their place. Perhaps most notably, the percentage of private foundation leaders who are people of color has grown by a 40 percent since the racial justice protests of 2020, according to a survey conducted by the Council on Foundations.
