Offline sampling is a great way to raise brand awareness. We found that on average 65% of subscribers had not seen or heard about a product before trying it in their HelloYummy Box, meaning over half of our subscribers are learning about our featured brands for the FIRST TIME through discovering them in HelloYummy Box. 3 reasons to do a brand collaboration (these are particularly applicable to FMCG right now) 👌🏼 1️⃣ You’ll up your game creatively Watching other brand owners and teams apply their care, craft and energy has a galvanising impact on you and your team. You’ll do better work and you and your team will enjoy the process. 2️⃣ You’ll get a fresh perspective you didn’t expect The people you’re collaborating with will bring ideas and perspectives you simply won’t expect or are able to create yourself since you’re so ensconced in your own brand. (David C. Baker calls this not being able to “read the label from inside the jar”.) 3️⃣ You’ll get access to a new audience The brands you collaborate with will bring their audience to your product, and vice versa. I'm so happy to be featured in this latest expert roundup from the Forbes Communications Council! Partnerships and cross-promotions are (in my opinion) chronically under-utilized as a strategy for growing brand awareness and reach in core audiences. They do take some effort, but they can be incredibly valuable, especially in the consumer space. One of my favorite recent examples is the mash-up of Kraft Heinz and Absolut Vodka for a tomato vodka pasta sauce that people LOST THEIR MINDS OVER on TikTok. 🍅 🍸 😍 I also always laugh thinking about how Crocs went from footwear abomination in the minds of many (despite being hard-core beloved by millions) to a true cultural darling, in large part due to savvy collabs. In the destination and place marketing space, we LOVE encouraging partnerships where there is (as I mention in the Forbes writeup) baseline audience synergy. Are you a destination with fishing as a major draw? An up-and-coming outdoor apparel brand could be a GREAT partner. A good agency will be able to reach out and facilitate connections on your behalf, bringing an effective collaboration to life.
