📢 Investing in Public Health: A Call for Change and Collaboration
Working in both private and public healthcare has given me a unique perspective on the disparities between the two sectors. While private healthcare often comes with more resources and support, I’ve seen firsthand how the public sector struggles under immense pressure and limited funding.
Our dedicated NHS staff—nurses, doctors, and support workers and administration —are the backbone of our healthcare system, yet they often work without the benefits and incentives that private sector employees enjoy. This imbalance contributes to burnout, career changes, and, ultimately, a critical talent drain from public health.
It’s time to make public health more attractive and sustainable.
I am committed to driving change in how we value and support our public healthcare workers. This mission isn’t just mine; it’s a collaborative effort. To build a system that truly cares for its carers, I am reaching out to invite ideas, insights, and suggestions from everyone—whether you work in healthcare, are a patient, or simply care about the future of our health services.
Let’s start a dialogue on how we can create incentives, improve work culture, and foster resilience within our NHS. Together, we can make public healthcare a career of choice, not compromise.
