International Transgender Day of Visibility is dedicated to celebrating the joy and resilience of trans people and raising awareness of discrimination faced by transgender people worldwide. In recognition of this day, we’re spotlighting the UNAIDS "Unbox Me" campaign, which advocates for transgender children's rights. In India, where over 70% of transgender individuals are rejected by their homes by age 15, "Unbox Me" aims to increase their visibility in a disapproving society that asks them to fit into outdated and unrepresentative gender norms. This powerful initiative calls for inclusion and acceptance and is intended to promote visibility worldwide by challenging stereotypes. Adapting to the Populist Wave Populism continues to shake things up globally. It’s fascinating yet challenging, especially for professional service firms. Populism, with its anti-establishment vibe is really changing the game in national policies and international relations. We can expect this trend to continue. With populist governments leaning towards protectionist policies and redefining foreign relations, we need to strike a balance between global strategies and local sensitivities. This isn't just about reacting to changes but also about staying ahead of the curve. Continuously rethinking our go-to-market strategies and how we engage with clients and regulators is crucial. Countries like Argentina, the Netherlands, Hungary, France and the USA show us that one-size-fits-all just doesn’t work anymore. We need bespoke strategies that fit specific regulatory, cultural, and socio-economic contexts. By combining global insights with local agility, we can improve efficiency and strengthen our partnerships in diverse markets. We have seen, and will continue to see, political shifts this year. Friend-shoring and near-shoring will change global supply chains and potentially drive up the cost of supply, meaning we need to rethink investments and operations. Whether we choose to influence public policy or adapt to it, our strategic positioning is more important than ever. For those with a global footprint, it’s crucial to align our corporate values with local norms, especially on sensitive topics like LGBTQ+ rights. Navigating this balance helps us avoid "ethics washing" or "greenwashing" and ensures our expansion efforts are both ethical and effective. In these transformative times, understanding and adapting to the nuances of populism is key. We can embrace this challenge with agility and clear planning, making the most of the opportunities it brings - and it does bring opportunities. Making sure that our non-market strategy is carefully developed and as de-risked as possible is key. Our #LLYC partners have launched #THEPURPLECHECK, an innovative Ai tool to help detect biases in headlines and messages reporting on gender-based violence to ensure a more objective and balanced treatment of information. Check it out! https://bit.ly/4a2SdJn This tool was designed based on the conclusions of their gender equality report, where they analyzed how the news outlets and social media cover information on violence against women to identify how we can all contribute raise awareness and combat this critical social issue. The report, "Out of Focus: How to better express opinions and report on gender-based violence." reveals that 20% of news stories justify aggression. If we manage to focus the news with a gender perspective, we will have one more tool for the benefit of the fight for equality. We believe that adequate exposure becomes a powerful tool to mobilize action and effect real change.

It's June, and you know what that means – a sea of rainbow logos flooding LinkedIn! Don't get me wrong, I like seeing companies show their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. As a member of that community, it can be a powerful symbol. But as Head of Marketing at Code Platoon, I won't be rainbow-washing our logo. Why??? Because at Code Platoon, diversity and inclusion aren't just for Pride Month. We believe in it every single day. Our programs are open and welcoming—not just in June but year-round. That means creating a space where everyone feels comfortable expressing themselves, regardless of orientation, background, or self-expression. The same goes for our staff and volunteers—we want them to feel supported and celebrated every day of the week. So, while you won't see a rainbow-fied Code Platoon logo from me, that doesn't mean we're not celebrating Pride! We're just doing it in a way that reflects our core values – by fostering a truly inclusive tech education community all year long. #PrideMonth #Diversityandinclusion #CodePlatoon

The National Institute for Women of Color (NIWC) was established in 1981 to build a network among women of African, Alaska Native, American Indian, Asian, Hispanic, Latina, and Pacific Island heritage to address common issues related to racism and sexism. NIWC proclaimed March 1, the first day of Women's History Month, as International Women of Color Day. This is a day dedicated to acknowledging and celebrating the contributions, achievements, and struggles of women of color around the globe. This day focuses on promoting equality, access, and opportunities for women of color, emphasizing the importance of addressing issues such as racism, sexism, and other forms of discrimination that disproportionately affect women of color. Here are some ways you can celebrate International Women of Color Day: 1. Participate in or organize educational events and workshops aimed at educating people about the history, struggles, and achievements of women of color. 2. Support businesses led by women of color: Make a conscious effort to support businesses owned and operated by women of color. 3. Attend or organize art and cultural exhibitions: Engage with art exhibits, film screenings, poetry readings, and other cultural events that showcase the work of women of color. 4. Engage with reading and discussion groups: Create or join groups focused on literature by women of color to gain deeper insights into their experiences, challenges, and perspectives. 5. 📣 🎉 Happy National Human Rights Day - Do you know why the L comes first in LGBTQI+? ️ 🎉 📣 This year, I want to share something personal to celebrate equality: my wedding video with my wife, Charly Rainbow. The audio speaks a message that we hope resonates with people. (Link: https://lnkd.in/e3m4Y_GY) Today reminds us of the ongoing struggles for human rights around the world. While we celebrate our love, it's important to raise awareness for the LGBTQ+ community facing limitations and persecution. When planning our wedding, Charly and I wanted to do our part. Here are some sobering 'not so fun' facts we included in our reading during our vows: ➡️1992: Same-sex attraction was classified as a mental illness in the UK. ➡️2014 (just 10 years ago): The first legal same-sex marriages took place in England & Wales. Myself, at 23, never thought marriage would be possible. ➡️Globally: Today, being gay is illegal in 64 countries, with the death penalty existing in 11 countries. Sadly, advocating for these rights came at a personal cost. We lost and faced criticism from some family members over our choice to raise awareness on our wedding day. Prejudice is a learned trait. You're not born prejudiced; you're taught it, let's do our bit to make the world a better place and create a more inclusive world.
