This year’s HLTH Inc. conference brought together hundreds of digital health startups, all hoping to connect with investors, clients, and collaborators. Reading Katie Adams' recent article in MedCity News, I found her insights from conversations with industry leaders interesting! ⬇ I’ve shared the link to the article in the comments—it’s definitely worth a read! Katie notes that while many startups are concentrating on popular fields (likely inspired by past trends), it’s essential to stay ahead of the curve. In my understanding, just as in the broader tech world, digital health can become overcrowded in certain areas, and true innovation lies in anticipating the next big needs, as trends are quick to change in this dynamic world. Startups that look forward can lead the way in fresh, critical spaces, positioning themselves as pioneers - and profiting as such. The article highlights three areas where leaders are eager for new approaches: 🌉 Bridging Research and Real-World Care: Dan Shoenthal from MD Anderson Cancer Center noted that many groundbreaking ideas stay in academia, leaving a gap in real-world tools. There’s a real need for startups that can fast-track this translation, bringing valuable insights into everyday patient care. As a former researcher, I deeply understand the need to expedite the journey from academic discovery to practical application—a transformation that could benefit us all. 💊 Deepening Patient Engagement: Todd Schwarzinger from Cleveland Clinic Ventures discussed the importance of patient-centered tools that empower individuals between visits. With Cleveland Clinic’s partnership with Ayble Health, a GI-focused platform, it’s clear that tools keeping patients engaged are a priority in improving outcomes. 🔗 Connecting Fragmented Solutions: Today’s healthcare systems can feel like scattered pieces of a puzzle, as Anika Gardenhire from Ardent Health explained. She pointed out the need for platforms that unify these tools, streamlining workflows and delivering more efficient, connected care. This is a reminder that digital health isn’t just about following trends; it’s about seeing the next challenge before it arrives. Those who can bridge gaps in research, empower patients, and create seamless, cohesive systems have a chance to shape the future of healthcare. What do you think is the next big area for digital health to focus on? I’d love to hear your thoughts! #DigitalHealth #HealthcareInnovation #PatientEngagement #HealthTech #HLTH *The picture below is taken from the article.

New Post: 3 Types of Startups that Healthcare Leaders Want to See More Of - Hundreds of digital health startups attended the recent HLTH conference in Las Vegas, seeking venture capital and insights. While many focused on similar areas like telehealth and chronic disease management, discussions revealed gaps in the market. Executives expressed interest in startups that could bridge academic research and commercialization, enhance patient engagement in daily health management, and integrate fragmented digital health solutions into cohesive platforms. They emphasized the need for technologies that keep patients engaged outside clinical settings and connect diverse healthcare stakeholders, particularly in complex areas like drug rebates. Opportunities remain for innovation in these underserved sectors. Read the full article here https://lnkd.in/gpDGNfEq #Venturecapital #VC #investment #LP #Limited Partner
