You’d like to think the governments of Ireland and the UK would question the current strategy for rural internet rollout and acknowledge their may already be a solution in the sky vs digging up the roads to lay cables and spending ridiculous amounts for minimal actual connection. From the Budget today: ‘Under-served parts of Northern Ireland will benefit from the rollout of digital infrastructure enabled by over £500 million of UK-wide investment in Project Gigabit and the Shared Rural Network.’ . The solutions already there, just make a deal!?
We’ve been without internet on my farm for years and they’ve promised a roll out last year and now they’ve said 2027. I’ve just invested in starlink too
Do you really want key infrastructure under the thumb of a 300bil lunatic, though?
Starlink is bloody fantastic. Been on it since beta testing. Game changer for our farm.

2moIndivduals are free to invest in Starlink...The government should not, it is about being sel-sufficent and having control over your own infrastructure. No having to bow to the whims of a self-serving man-child
