The last two weeks I've spoken with: ~5 brands looking to centralize affiliate and influencer initiatives by 2025 ~3 who mentioned it's not a priority (they're focused on engagement metrics) It comes down to what leadership is prioritizing and asking you to deliver on. I think it's important to look at it as two different stages of influencer marketing. Likes, comments, and shares used to be seen as the key indicators of success. Today, influencers are driving top-of-funnel and bottom-of-funnel growth. With this we've seen the cost of influencer partnerships rise. To justify influencer spend, you need to prove the value of your investment. Brand awareness is valuable, but it doesn't directly show sales impact. Conversely, it's challenging to drive sales w/o some level of brand awareness. This is why I think the integration of influencer and affiliate is the future. You can track ROI while driving awareness and conversions. It's a matter of time until leadership starts to ask your team to take responsibility for sales and revenue generation from influencer initiatives. Here are the benefits of adopting this approach now, vs. a year from now: 1. Sales tracking informs strategies and decision-making moving forward 2. Demonstrate the impact of influencer partnerships on revenue 3. Ability to adjust and refine strategies based on real-time results 4.
