This infographic helps illustrate the many different ways you can make changes to incorporate action into reducing your project's carbon footprint. The key through line is "plan." The scope of sustainability is huge, so start from the very beginning of the process to ensure the project reduces impact without disrupting the process. We are happy to help walk you each step of the way, so it is an easy and stress-free process.

A really good post, highlighting the weaknesses in many common-used phrases/words in the public sector... a lot of which I am very familiar with!!
Co-production isn’t extra work, it is the work… Resharing my reflections about the language of co-production and words that make me go hmmm… from last year’s #CoProWeek ⬇️ https://lnkd.in/ei3XFNUy

I've just been reading this Think Local Act Personal (TLAP) post by Kate Sibthorp. It did give me something to think about and I urge all 'professionals' to read it, particularly if they aspire to the co-production of services. Her post includes: “Much has been said and written about why the term ‘service users’ should be avoided and the offensiveness of the term to many, so I won’t talk about that here. Instead, I want to highlight how the word ‘professionals’ bothers me, when contrasted with ‘people who draw on care and support’. The term ‘professional’ suggests qualifications, expertise, knowledge, skills and competence. When pitched in contrast to ‘people with lived experience’ or ‘people who draw on services’ it feels imbalanced and implies that people who draw on services lack wider expertise, knowledge, skills and competence. Which, of course, is rubbish. Instead, why not just talk about people who work in services and people who draw on services? Isn’t this more straightforward, clear and equitable?”
Take a moment to reflect on the language of co-production with Kate Sibthorp of the National Co-production Advisory Group. Kate discusses ideas including 👇 - You said, we did - Service users and professionals - Opportunity, increasing confidence, and training - Empowerment - Jargon 📍 https://lnkd.in/efmsHJP6 #LanguageMatters #NCAG #CoProduction #CoProWeek

Day 3 of #coproductionweek 2024. Now there are many Coproduction tools out there like the NHS petals of Coproduction and of course the very famous Ladder of Coproduction too!! 🪜 However what’s stopping you and your organisation thinking outside that metaphorical box 📦and creating your own involvement/coproduction too. This would help in developing and co-designing opportunities and would place them in known categories for your organisation e.g. Involvement, Consultation and then Coproduction. Its not 🚀 rocket science but many put involvement down as Coproduction and it just isnt 🤷🏻♂️ with the tool you develop you will see the right way of thinking and doing at the right time. #whatsmissing #coproweek24

Embracing Hope and Vision: Co-production Week 2024 This week marks an important event in our calendar: Co-production Week. It's a time dedicated to recognising and celebrating the principles and practices of co-production, especially within health and social care. Co-production empowers individuals to have a say in matters that affect their lives, fostering collaborative efforts to improve support systems and services. As co-production warriors, our passion for this approach stems from personal experience. We've navigated the often inadequate care systems and have witnessed first-hand the transformative impact of effective support. Our commitment to co-production is unwavering because we believe in the power of centring lived experiences in the design, creation, and implementation of public services. Everyone deserves a life filled with purpose, belonging, and meaning. Co-production is not just about independence; it is about fostering interdependent relationships that enrich our lives. The mantra "nothing about us without us" from the disabled people's movement underpins our efforts. Despite this, there are still spaces and initiatives that exclude the very voices they aim to serve, missing the opportunity to be truly fit for purpose. Our lived experiences are not just valuable; they are the cornerstone of effective co-production. This knowledge should be the guiding principle in all co-production efforts. Our hope for the future is that co-production becomes a standard practice—integral to all processes, rather than an afterthought. True co-production is not about ticking boxes or token gestures. It is about collective action—bringing together lived and learned experiences to envision and create a better life for all. It must be equitable, diverse, mutually beneficial, and, above all, honest and reflective. While consensus may not always be possible, striving towards it with openness and respect is crucial. As we celebrate Co-production Week, we urge everyone to consider the following actions: Reflect on who is not in the room and work to include those missing voices. Embrace the process with courage and openness. Remember, we are here to support you in your co-production journey. This week, let’s renew our commitment to co-production and work towards making it a standard practice. Together, we can create a world where everyone has the opportunity to live their best life, despite the challenges they face. Happy Co-production Week ! With thanks from Jacqueline, Paula, Isaac and Lee #CoProWeek #CoProductionWeek #CoProduction #SocialCare

📣 More tickets now available for our Co-Production Week conference. Grab yours now! https://lnkd.in/e5JbzDpv 📣 As part of this year's Co-Production Week, we're holding an online conference on Wednesday 3 July to celebrate co-production and explore work still left to do. We've got a great line-up of sessions, which you can view on our website https://lnkd.in/ggG8s9Y Our first batch of tickets sold out quickly, so don't delay and join us in July as we discuss how we can: 🔹 increase equity and diversity in co-production 🔹 think about how we can access better training and development, 🔹 have clear definitions and language around co-production. We’ll also be thinking about how to show the impact and difference co-production makes and how we can make a good business case for it. This event's proving extremely popular and we're keen to make sure we have an even split of participants between people with lived experience, carers and those working in social care and health, so tickets are limited for each group. #SocialCare #CoProWeek #CoProduction #CoPro

We want to take the opportunity afforded by National Co-production Week to celebrate the journey we are on locally in relation to co-production, and the milestones we have already achieved, namely; * The co-production of a SEND Co-production Charter for Stoke-on-Trent: https://lnkd.in/egmZS2Y4 * A whole-system Co-production Promise for Staffordshire, supported by an introductory video, a practitioner toolkit and the capability to make pledges of support: https://lnkd.in/ehH-Vp8X * These locally developed tools along with others such as Whose Shoes (used by Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust) are supporting the workforce to work better and more often with those receiving support in the design and delivery, thereby improving the experience of receiving that support. This week, as co-production is celebrated nationally, we are also proud to start sharing some brand new local resources designed to encourage people across the workforce to have the confidence to try co-production, perhaps in small and specific areas to begin with. In light of this, here are links to 2 short (less than 10 minutes each) videos that can be used by individuals to increase understanding and confidence, or teams to initiate a discussion around where and how they can begin to take a co-production approach to elements of their work. 1. A Conversation Starter around Co-production: https://lnkd.in/ebGU_3zS 2. Co-production in the context of wider engagement: https://lnkd.in/eJKWJZAm Get in touch if you have examples of where you are already co-producing along with the impact that it is making for those involved, both for providers and receivers of support in Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent. #CoProWeek #CoProStaffsSOT #Coproduction #Staffordshire #StokeonTrent
