Zomato rival Swiggy has launched a Market Intelligence Dashboard, which offers comprehensive insights to restaurant partners about how their business is running. The tool enables restaurants to track their business performance, analyze operational metrics, and monitor marketing spend, regardless of size or cuisine. The dashboard features an Overview Tab that allows restaurants to compare their performance against the market on key metrics such as business, operations, customer behavior, and spending. It provides an overall score and detailed scores in each area to help partners understand their competitive position in the food delivery market. Key features include tracking essential business indicators like order growth, average order value, order cancellations, availability, and customer complaints. The dashboard also evaluates marketing efforts, including ads and discounts, allowing restaurants to optimize their spending and enhance operational efficiency and strategic decision-making. #swiggy #delivery #restaurants #business #news

Have you ever wanted to schedule a food order for the next morning? Imagine this: You’re craving dosa for breakfast at 10 AM, but you know you’ll be too busy or too sleepy to place the order then. It would be so convenient to schedule the order the night before and wake up to your food arriving just on time. Yet, platforms like Zomato and Swiggy don’t offer a feature to schedule food deliveries in advance. It’s surprising, given how common this need is, especially for working professionals or early risers with tight schedules. The potential is huge: •Convenience: Customers can pre-plan meals for specific times. •Better Resource Management: Restaurants can optimize prep and delivery based on advance orders. •Customer Retention: This small feature could differentiate platforms in a competitive market. What do you think? Would this feature make your life easier? Or is it just me overthinking my breakfast plans? Let’s discuss!

Is Quick Commerce Eating QSR's Lunch? The battle for our appetites is heating up! Traditional Quick Service Restaurants (QSRs) like Domino's and Pizza Hut are facing a double threat: 1. Food Delivery Giants: Zomato and Swiggy's massive expansion are grabbing a bigger slice of the food delivery pie. 2. Quick Commerce: Platforms like Zomato's Blinkit and Swiggy's Instamart are luring younger customers away from physical stores, especially for groceries. Here's the data to chew on: QSR industry's YOY revenue growth dropped from 18% to 9% (FY23 vs FY24). Zomato & Swiggy's restaurant partners skyrocketed (Zomato: 61,000 in FY19 to 2.7 lakh in FY24). Younger folks (18-25) prefer quick commerce (60%) over QSRs (only 5%). What's next for QSRs? - Despite the slowdown, QSRs are still aggressively expanding stores. - Can they adapt to changing consumer habits and compete with the convenience of delivery and quick commerce? This is a wake-up call for the QSR industry. They need to innovate and offer compelling reasons for customers to choose them over the growing convenience of quick commerce. What are your thoughts? Are QSRs doomed? Or can they adapt? Let's discuss in the comments! P.S. Boost this post by liking and sharing! Let's get the conversation flowing about the future of food. #QSR #FoodDelivery #QuickCommerce #Retail #ConsumerTrends

I was comparing Swiggy and Zomato on their key operating metrics and was surprised to see that Average Order Value of both for FY24 was exactly the same down to the last rupee- INR 428!! It's not a coincidence—it's the Law of Large Numbers in action! When you process millions of orders, individual variations on account of not just the order size but also cuisine/ restaurant choice cancel out. It shows how randomness transforms into predictability at scale. So which platform do you prefer? #Zomato #Swiggy #Statistics #Investing

The food delivery landscape in India has seen a dramatic transformation over the past three years, deeply influenced by the COVID-19 pandemic. As someone who's been closely involved in the restaurant and hospitality industry, I've witnessed these changes firsthand, and it's incredible how quickly things have evolved. 🔸Market Expansion: The online food delivery market in India has grown significantly, with a CAGR of around 15.5%, reaching $13 billion by 2023. With increasing internet access and the convenience of app-based ordering, food delivery has seamlessly integrated into urban living. 🔸Consumer Behavior: There's been a noticeable shift in how people approach food delivery. Back in 2020, only about 20% of consumers were regularly ordering food online. Fast forward to 2023, and that number has more than doubled, with nearly 45% of people ordering in at least once a week. This isn't just about convenience anymore; there's a growing appetite for diverse cuisines, healthier options, and even specialized diets. Cloud kitchens have also risen in popularity, offering tailored experiences to meet these changing preferences. 🔸Tech Innovations: Technology has played a crucial role in this industry's growth. From AI-driven personalized recommendations to experimental drone deliveries in some cities, the food delivery ecosystem is becoming smarter and more efficient. These innovations are enhancing the customer experience, improving delivery times, and helping platforms like Swiggy and Zomato operate more effectively. 🔸Looking Ahead: The coming years will be pivotal for India's food delivery industry. The emergence of the Open Network for Digital Commerce (ONDC) is set to shake things up. ONDC aims to level the playing field by allowing local restaurants and small businesses to tap into a wider audience, which could reduce the dominance of the major platforms. That said, Swiggy and Zomato aren't sitting still. They're continually innovating—whether it's expanding into hyperlocal delivery or investing in sustainability. The competition between these established players and the new dynamics introduced by ONDC will likely drive further innovation and efficiency. 🔸The Future: By 2028, the food delivery market in India is expected to surpass $25 billion. This growth will be driven by technological advancements, deeper penetration into tier 2 and 3 cities, and a stronger focus on sustainability and healthier eating. The evolving landscape, shaped by both established players and new entrants like ONDC, will make the industry more competitive, consumer-friendly, and inclusive. The next few years are going to be crucial for the food delivery sector in India. Those who can adapt to these changes will be the ones leading the charge in this dynamic and rapidly evolving market. #FoodDelivery #HospitalityIndustry #India #Swiggy #Zomato #ONDC #MarketTrends #FutureOfFood

𝗭𝗼𝗺𝗮𝘁𝗼’𝘀 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗳𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘀 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘆-𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗶𝘁 𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱? In my last post, we explored the restaurant owner's perspective, but what about the delivery partners who bridge the gap between restaurant and customer? A couple of years ago, I spoke with several delivery partners from Swiggy and Zomato, and here’s what I learned: 𝟭. 𝗟𝗼𝗻𝗴-𝗱𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝗲𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵: Delivery partners, especially those on bicycles or electric bikes, shared that longer trips aren’t compensated well. They work within zones, fulfilling 12-16 deliveries daily, but longer trips slow them down, limiting their income. 𝟮. 𝗖𝗹𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝘇𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀 & 𝗺𝘂𝗹𝘁𝗶-𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗲𝗿 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗴𝗲: Shorter trips mean quicker deliveries and a chance to pick up multiple orders from nearby restaurants. It’s a win-win- more orders, more earnings, and more efficiency. 𝟯. 𝗥𝗲𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗻 𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝗹𝗲𝗺𝗺𝗮: Delivery partners prefer to have an order back to their zone after traveling far. Without this, long trips aren’t worth it. 𝟰. 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗯𝗿𝘂𝗻𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗿 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝘀: When deliveries are delayed due to traffic, restaurant issues, or other external factors, customers often blame the delivery partner. Many face the brunt of complaints despite these factors being outside their control. It’s clear that distance doesn’t just impact customers and restaurants but also the delivery partners. Ultimately, this shift may simplify things for Zomato and benefit nearby restaurants, but will it be as beneficial for the partners making these deliveries? #zomato #deliverypartners #fooddelivery #customerexperience #productmanagement
