From Magellan AI, throughout 2024 the average podcast now has 9 ads per episode up from 6 ads in 2023. And many shows are now running significantly more than 9 ads. Not to mention the influx of poorly placed programmatic ads and ill advised repurposing of pre-produced radio copy for podcasts. Good intentions all around but it's time to focus even more attention on optimizing for frequency and creating share of voice for advertisers. This is a great industry goal for 2025 and I know a lot of smart people are working hard to do something to reverse this trend. Maybe less is more?
