Two Minute Topics - Episode 45. Today’s topic… WAREHOUSE PROCESSES (Part V) – Shipment Prep. I know it’s way too early to be talking about the holidays. But stop and think about gift-giving. You find the right box or bag to package the item. You use an exorbitant amount of tape to seal the wrapping paper. You label it to make sure you know which gift goes to which person. Then you “ship” it under your tree. Well, the shipment prep process within a warehouse is similar… except without the curly ribbon and bows. Y’all I struggled getting this into 2-3 minutes. So, we will for sure be breaking these down WAY further this week. (Keep in mind that this only covers high level warehouse processes within shipment prep, and does NOT include the transportation processes related to it; mode selection, carrier scheduling/dispatch, tracking/tracing, etc. We’ll dive into those concepts in a future Two Minute Topics series!!)
