🚀 We are thrilled to announce that Neuronova, a pioneering Milan-based startup, has successfully secured a €1.5 million pre-seed round from Tech4Planet | Polo Nazionale di Trasferimento Tecnologico per la sostenibilità ambientale and 360 Capital to revolutionize the AI chip industry. This funding will drive the development of Neuronova’s ultra-efficient processor, enabling AI to run directly on battery-powered smart devices and sensors. With nearly two billion smart devices sold in 2023, the demand for more efficient technology has surged, while reliance on centralized cloud infrastructures has become increasingly unsustainable due to cost and environmental impact. Neuronova’s processor relocates AI processing from data centers to the device level, enabling real-time edge processing with minimal energy consumption. Founded by three PhDs in neuromorphic computing, Neuronova is developing a brain-inspired technology that uses neurons and synapses as physical elements on a millimeter-scale chip. This approach reduces energy consumption for AI tasks by up to 1,000 times, enabling large-scale industrial integration and meeting the growing demand of smart device manufacturers.
