💡 Not all dental practices have a digital scanner (intraoral scanner). 32Co was built to democratise access to the best clear aligner service for all dentists. That means we work hard to ensure that dentists who only have access to impressions get the support they need to capture the anatomy just as well as a scanner would. As dentists know, even with years of training and practice, this is not easy. (Note- direct to consumer clear aligner companies are still asking patients to do this themselves!!) Awkward arch shapes which don’t fit into standard impression trays, patients with hyperactive gag reflexes, excess saliva can all make things more difficult. So we give training and tips on impression taking and specific feedback on impression quality when we find issues. Here are some common problems we see: ⛔ No drags or blows ⛔ No shine through from the tray ✅ 2mm of the gum above the crown- both buccally and lingually ✅ Cover at least 70% of the occlusal surface of the terminal molars 8’s. ✅ All occlusal details are present - Dry the teeth with air syringe to eliminate saliva bubbles Interested in seeing examples of these common impression mistakes?
