This article shares an interesting perspective as things heat up in this election year. Social and political views factor heavily as people consider where they want to live post retirement. As the article highlights, “birds of a feather flock together.” This desire for social compatibility is one of the tenants of success of Naborforce. Because our Nabors hail from our clients’ own communities, they align well with the social norms and values. #olderadults #retirement #agetech #longevity

Really useful article here on how diverse retirees are: "It’s a diverse group of people whose wealth stretches across the full spectrum, but as a group retirees are getting richer. The stereotype of poor, penny-pinching pensioners must be updated. Baby Boomers are asset rich (they very much tend to own their own home) and hold the biggest share of cash savings – they benefit from high interest rates and won’t slow their spending any time soon." This is a similar message to the one in my free ebook Spending and Saving in Retirement available here: https://lnkd.in/gBruDeV9 (though I avoid the Baby Boomer language myself) With thanks to Mary Anne Muscat for alerting me to this piece.

We're quickly approaching a "silver tsunami," which means that 4.1 million Americans will reach the traditional retirement age of 65 every year for the next several years. This unprecedented event will definitely have a major impact on Social Security. In fact, it's unlikely that Social Security will be able to support this many people in retirement. “America has never seen so many people reaching retirement age over a short period, and well over half of them will find it challenging to meet their needs through their retirements, let alone maintain their current standard of living,” says Robert Shapiro. This is a major issue that we need to address now; we can't wait until the problem is already here. Seniors deserve to have access to financial services put in place to help them maintain quality of life when aging. How do you think we should begin to address this challenge? #SilverTsunami #SocialSecurity #SeniorCare

After decades of grinding, most people aspire to one day be able to kick up their feet (preferably at a holiday home by the beach) and retire. But after having a brief taste of retirement, a sizable chunk of pensioners are dusting off their suits and returning to work instead. In fact, a survey of more than 6,300 U.K. adults for Standard Life, part of the nation’s largest long-term savings and retirement business, found that 14% of baby boomers and late Gen Xers have already “unretired”—and a further 4% are considering it. While 16% of women over 55 years old are planning a career return, this figure rises to nearly a quarter of men—some 21%.

Why are we building Alter-Falter 🦋 ? Elizaveta Tarasenko and I are on a mission to redefine retirement and make a positive impact in the lives of retirees. Why is this important? Why today? We want to empower active ageing. With the number of retirees set to skyrocket in the coming years, we see an incredible opportunity to help seniors find a new purpose, stay engaged, connected, and active in their communities by providing access to a vibrant online platform and events. From one side, we're tackling the pressing issue of financial instability among pensioners head-on. With more than a quarter of retirees living with less than 1,000 EUR and struggling to make ends meet on decent pensions, we're here to offer easy-to-follow strategies to boost their income and improve their financial security while they do what they love to do the most in life. Our goal? To alleviate (on some level) the burden on social pension programs and reduce family strain. Secondly, lack of purpose, loneliness and social isolation are major concerns, especially among older adults. By creating a supportive and inclusive community where retirees can connect, socialise, and build meaningful relationships, we're fighting back against these issues and promoting mental and physical well-being. For us, retirement should be a time of joy, fulfilment, trying new things and experiencing new adventures. We're here to challenge outdated stereotypes and show that seniors today are healthier, more vibrant, and more energetic than ever before. What is your experience with the elderly members of your family? What has been your own experience going into retirement age? Please share your stories with us. #AlterFalter #RetirementRevolution #SocialImpact #Niezuspät #60isthenew40 💫
