- [Instructor] Is there anything more embarrassing than sending an email with typos, missing words, or garbled sentences? I mean, sure, but those things are definitely up there on the list of common workplace embarrassments. First and foremost, take your time and proofread your message before sending it. This may seem obvious, but it's easy to overlook mistakes when you're in a rush, especially because your brain tends to see what you think you wrote instead of what you actually wrote. Slowing down and trying to mentally shift your brain from writing mode into editing mode can help. The good news is that there are a few ways you can trick your brain into seeing your message anew.
