Managing users, groups, and devices in AD DS
- [Instructor] As a new network administrator, you probably won't be assigned to manage an existing active directory nor create one. However, it is important to know how and where to access and manage users, groups, and devices in an active directory domain. We'll explore that here using Windows Server 2022. Here's the Server Manager Dashboard. Much of what you'll need to know is available from the Tools menu under Active Directory Users and Computers. If you're following along on your own Windows Server machine, make sure you've installed Active Directory Services or this option won't be available. To create a new user account, expand the container where the account will reside. I'll expand LandonHotel8. Now, I'll click users. If I sort by type, you can see there are lots of groups but only two users, administrator and guest. Let's create our own new user now. Right click an empty area of the screen, point to new…
