- [Instructor] We've talked about creating both local and network shares. And in this movie, we're going to explore more about the available permissions for them. I'll address the differences among share and NTFS, explicit permissions, NTFS permission inheritance and more. Before we start though, open File Explorer and create a few folders you'd like to share. I've already created two. Share1 and Share2. You can see I've navigated to This PC in the local disk. The reason I've created folders here is because the C drive isn't shared by default. So no preset permissions will trickle down to these new folders. If I were to create folders in a parent folder that already had permissions applied, my new folders would inherit those permissions and I don't want that.
