Configuring updates using Windows Update for Business
- [Instructor] Windows Update for Business allows enterprises to manage Windows updates on a large scale for their network clients. These clients can be running any Windows 11 operating system except for Home. Windows Update for Business covers feature updates, quality updates, driver updates, and even some version upgrades, among other update types. To manage and control updates, administrators create deployment rings and upgrade rings to group computers together and apply update rules. These rings allow administrators to roll out updates to test rings first and later to all clients. In addition, administrators can deploy updates on a schedule, a certain date, and even a specific time of day. There are three main methods that large enterprises use in conjunction with Windows Update for Business: Group policy; a mobile device management solution, such as Microsoft Intune, or System Center Configuration Manager.…
