Introduction - vSphere Tutorial
From the course: VMware vSphere 8 Certified Technical Associate - Data Center Virtualization (VCTA-DCV) (1V0-21.20) Cert Prep
Introduction
- [Presenter] In this section of the course, we're going to focus on administering resource management in vSphere, and we'll start with a lesson on resource pools. We'll learn how we can create a resource pool as a container object, how we can place multiple virtual machines within it, and use the resource pool to share resources across a group of virtual machines. And then we'll move on to distributed resource scheduler or DRS. DRS can be used to automate the vMotion of virtual machines across different ESXi hosts within a cluster. And the goal of DRS is to improve the overall performance of virtual machines on that cluster.
