Demo: Fault Tolerance in vSphere
- [Rick] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to configure fault tolerance in a vSphere eight environment. And as you can see here, I'm logged into the vSphere client and I'm just going to browse to hosts and clusters. And I already have a cluster created called trainer tests HA cluster. But you can see here that a high availability is currently turned off on my cluster. I have to enable high availability before I can enable fault tolerance. So in order to enable fault tolerance, I have to have a cluster and that cluster has to have HA enabled. So I'm just going to simply turn on high availability for this cluster to meet that prerequisite. Now that's one of the prerequisites that we have for fault tolerance. The other big one is I have to enable the fault tolerance service on VM kernel ports. So I'm going to go to my first host and under the configure tab I'm going to go to VM kernel adapters. And as you can see, I already have one VM kernel port and that VM kernel port has vMotion…
