- [Rick] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to create a vSphere Distributed Switch, and I'll be demonstrating these tasks in my Home Lab using vSphere 8. So, here I am in the hosts and clusters view of the vSphere client, and I'm going to click over here on the far right on the icon for Networking. I'm going to create a new vSphere Distributed Switch here. So, I'm going to click on my Training virtual data center. And here, you can see under Distributed Switch, I have the option to create a New Distributed Switch. I'm just going to call my new distributed switch RickCrisciDemo, and I'll click Next. And then, I'll choose the version of ESXI that's going to be running in my environment So, the question here is, which versions of ESXI should this distributed switch be compatible with? And if I have some other hosts on previous versions of ESXI, I can make my distributed switch compatible with those older ESXI hosts.
