- [Instructor] In this video, I'll demonstrate how to clone a virtual machine, and I'll be performing these tasks using my home lab that I've created on VMware Workstation. And if you just watched my templates video, this is going to be very similar to what you just saw. So a template is a great way for me to create an image of a virtual machine that I can use many times to create virtual machines according to a standard. That's really what a template is all about, standardizing my virtual machine image and then being able to repeatedly utilize it. Now, when I clone a virtual machine, like for example, I can take this running virtual machine and I can clone it to a new virtual machine. What I'm looking to do here is not repeatedly and consistently deploy virtual machines based on an image. I may be trying to do something like testing. So for example, let's say that this virtual machine has some sort of problem and I want to try a solution on it, but that solution is somewhat risky…
