- [Rick] In this video, I'm going to demonstrate some of the basic configuration tasks for ESXi. So here you can see I'm at the home screen of the vSphere client, and if I go to hosts and clusters, I have one ESXi host here in my inventory currently. Now, I could use the vSphere client to manage this ESXi host, or I could use the host client. And just so you understand the difference. The vSphere client can be used to manage every single ESXi host that is in my vCenter inventory. However, if I open a new browser tab and I go to the address of this one individual ESXi host, I can launch the host client, I can log in with the credentials of this specific host. And remember, these are not vCenter credentials. These are the credentials that I have configured on this specific host itself. And I can do all sorts of management tasks locally on this one individual host. So if I happen to just have one ESXi host that's not being managed by vCenter, I can do all of these tasks here, but I can't…
