When calculating with numbers, common operators can be used in the usual way. Plus for addition, minus for the subtraction, the asterisk for multiplication, and divide by using the slash for division. As usual, remember the PEMDAS rule, also known as "Please Excuse My Dear Aunt Sally". Depending on where you're from, you might also have heard it called BEDMAS, BODMAS, or BIDMAS. If you are German like me, you may know this as [SPEAKING GERMAN], which, now that I say it out loud, is probably a very stereotypical example of the rather harsh beauty of my mother language. Now, whichever mnemonic you may remember from your school days, it refers to the order of operations. Operations get resolved in this order: Parentheses, exponents, multiplication and division, and then addition and subtraction. Now, what does that mean? It means that if we have an operation like 1 + 2 * 3, it will first multiply two by three and then add one to it, resulting in seven. We can use something similar to…
