Baking out data maps
- [Instructor] To make our creative materials useful, we will of course need to make sure that all of them appear on the product mesh, and in the correct places. To do this here, we will use a single data map called vertex color. However, to help improve the aesthetics slightly, we are going to quickly bake out too extremely useful maps, namely vertex color ID for material placement and an ambient occlusion map to help give the product a little more definition. With the first graph that we created, the product y graph in view, let's right click on the FBX mesh inside the explorer pane and from the list that appears, select the bake model information option. In the output section of the baker UI, let's embed the textures into our substance package. As this will make keeping both the maps and the substance itself together a lot easier, should we want at some point to move the files. A size of 2k will do nicely for this product, but again feel free to change this should your product have…
