Identify skill and knowledge gaps

- Have you ever accepted a job where you had 100% of the skills and knowledge needed for it? I personally never have. And most people who are ambitious, you typically strive to take jobs where you will grow and learn new things. So it is completely normal to come into a job and have some areas for growth. It could be internal information, such as the way the product works, industry knowledge or skills. Proactively identify these knowledge and skill gaps, and ask for educational support, in order to ramp up more quickly in your role. A big mistake employees make is thinking that their manager will identify their skill gaps for them and facilitate that learning. Quite the opposite. Your manager is busy and can't see the confusion going on in your brain. You need to speak up when you see a skill gap and proactively give ideas for how you can can fill it.
