- Great projects start off strong. And a good way to start off strong is to have a great kick-off meeting. A kick-off meeting is where you introduce the team and key stakeholders to the project. Now, with smaller projects, you might have a kick-off meeting where you introduce the team to the project before you start planning and doing the work. On large projects, say with 50 year plus team members, you'll probably do some initial planning with a small project management team, and then have a kick-off meeting when you're ready to start doing the work. Either way, the kick-off meeting is the vehicle you use to communicate the high-level information to your team.
