- [Instructor] Now let's talk about how to multiply and divide fractions. The good news is that it's actually way easier than adding or subtracting them. Let's say we had 1/2 times 3/4ths. We really don't have to think about a lot here. We just multiple one times three is three and two times four is eight, and boom, we're done, 3/8ths. You just have to kind of go from left to right, one times three, two times four, bingo. What about if we divide fractions? Divide fractions. Let's say we have the same fractions but this time we were asked to divide them. Well it's still really easy, we just have to remember one simple step, flip and multiply. What I mean by that is we keep the left side the same. We change the divide sign into a multiplication sign. And then we flip the fraction. So we end up with 1/2 times four over three. And then same thing as before, multiply fractions from left to right, so one times four is four, two times three is six. If we wanted to, we could reduce that to…
