One great way to understand these kinds of trends is through creating a map, which is extremely easy to do in Power BI. I'm in the reports view of a fresh Power BI workbook. Let's go ahead and connect to a data source and let's create a map. First let's click get data. We can connect to the exercise file and pull in geo map, which is one of the tabs on the Excel file. So select Excel and click connect. Next, find where you downloaded your exercise file and hit open. We're going to want to connect to the geo data tab of the source file. So select geo data tab and hit load. As you can see in the fields pane we have successfully connected to the geo data tab. So let's go ahead and click on state ID, and voila we have already created a map.…
