Behavior questions like. "Tell me about a time when..."
- Here's the best way to answer behavioral style interview questions, like, "Tell me about a time when." Pro tip, do not overshare, or go off on a tangent. Instead, follow this simple three-part structure. Part one is the what. This is where you share the context of the situation, so that you can get the interviewer on the same page as you. Part two is the how, how you pushed through something, how you overcame an obstacle, how you worked through a certain challenge, and try to integrate your distinct strengths and skills in this section to show how you used those to help you within the situation. And part three is the result, or impact. This is where you show the interviewer what came from that situation, and how you were a direct spearhead in making that happen.
