- [Instructor] You can sort tasks, resources, and assignments in Project, to find the info you need more easily. For example, sorting tasks by WBS helps during planning, while sorting by duration, comes in handy when you're looking for tasks to shorten. Let's start by displaying the OM Gantt view that we created earlier. On the view tab, I'm going to go to the task view section and click the bottom half of the Gantt chart button. In the custom section on the menu, click OM Gantt. For sorting, it's better to hide the summary tasks although you don't have to, but we're going to hide them. So we're going to head over to the Gantt chart format tab on the ribbon, and then to the show hide section over on the right side and turn off the check boxes for summary tasks and project summary task. Now, all we see are the work tasks and some milestones in this project. For sorting, we're going to go back to the view tab. In the data section, there's a button for sort.
